What is ‘Breathwork’?
The term ‘breathwork’ encompasses many breathing practices. The Australian Breathwork Association recognises the practice of breathwork as conscious cyclical breathing where the inhale meets the exhale without any pauses for a lengthened period. This style of breathwork is recognised by peak bodies for breathwork internationally as Conscious Connected Breathwork (CCB) or ‘Breathwork’.
Within the field of CCB, there are various schools including but not limited to; Rebirthing, Holotropic Breathwork, Integrative Breathwork, Clarity Breathwork, Shamanic Breathwork and Transformational Breath.
The known client benefits of CCB include:
- Release of stress, anxiety and depression.
- Help in shifting unhelpful beliefs and cultivate healthy relationships with their emotions.
- Aiding trauma recovery such as birth, loss, death and suffering.
- Supporting confident, conscious decision-making.
- Assisting in the process of navigating change towards embracing their full potential.
- Improveing their mind-body connection and the ability to re-program behaviours.
Australia is recognised as a world leader in setting and maintaining professional standards, ethics, and practices with Conscious Connected Breathwork for both training and practice.
